Skype in the new training and community centre

Budini Pomodia Kamagani is 9 years old and her family lives on one of the Horana plantations. Her dad however works as tailor in a textile company in Mauritius. The only way of keeping in touch with his family were expensive and therefore short phone calls on Sundays. Since the new training and community centre is finished there are computers with Internet access on the plantation. So from now on Budini and her dad can talk via Skype. The Fair Trade premium covered mostly the material and shell construction. The plantation workers did the rest successfully on their own. Now they have a new meeting point for chatting, for studying, for celebrating or for talking to relatives abroad.
